A Guggenheim Fellowship is among the most prestigious honors in the arts and sciences. It recognizes leading scholars who are committed to innovative work with the potential to transform society and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oswald is a 2022 graduate with a master\u2019s degree in music composition.&nbsp;Last year, he was also the recipient of the <a href=\"https:\/\/mnminews.missouri.edu\/2025\/04\/oswald-huynh-mizzou-master-of-music-in-composition-2022-named-as-a-winner-of-the-2025-26-rome-prize\/\">highly prestigious Rome Prize<\/a>. Listed among his principal mentors is Mizzou Professor of Composition and Artistic Director of the Mizzou New Music Initiative (MNMI), <a href=\"https:\/\/music.missouri.edu\/people\/freund\">Stefan Freund<\/a>. The College of Arts and Science recognized his early career success this spring with the <a href=\"https:\/\/coas.missouri.edu\/news\/2026-faculty-staff-and-alumni-awards\">Distinguished Recent Alumni Award<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oswald\u2019s teaching assistantship at Mizzou was <a href=\"https:\/\/newmusic.missouri.edu\/\">supported by the\u00a0MNMI<\/a> and made possible through the incredible <a>vision <\/a>of Curator Jeanne Cairns Sinquefield and Rex Sinquefield. Because of their drive for excellence, Mizzou is an established, global center of new music composition and performance. Thanks to their dedication, students not only learn from <a href=\"https:\/\/president.missouri.edu\/blog\/2026\/02\/02\/mizzou-faculty-ensemble-in-residence-win-grammy\/\">Grammy winning faculty<\/a> \u2013 they are prepared to make an impact and show the world what they can accomplish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations, Oswald!
