Momentum for Mizzou\u2019s historic fundraising campaign,\u202fPower the Roar<\/a>, is undeniable. Though publicly launched just a year ago, I\u2019m excited to share that Tigers have already contributed $1.1 billion\u202ftowards\u202four $2 billion goal!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new fiscal year just started, and we\u2019re already on track for another record thanks to two recent signature gifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re honored that longtime supporters Rich Kinder (BA \u201966, JD \u201968) and Nancy Kinder have contributed an additional $25 million to grow the important work of the\u00a0Kinder Institute on Constitutional Democracy<\/a>. Their latest gift brings the Kinders\u2019 total lifetime support of the university to $85 million. Then next week on Sept. 2, as part of our Mizzou Day of Celebration, we\u2019ll announce an incredible $50 million gift from David Payne (BS EE \u201983) to transform engineering education and research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also on Sept. 2, we\u2019ll hold a grand-opening for the $260 million\u00a0Memorial Stadium Centennial Project<\/a>, ground-breaking for the $150 million\u00a0Energy Innovation Center<\/a>\u00a0\u202fand\u00a0pep rally for the entire Tiger community<\/a>\u00a0that celebrates the excitement and momentum of Power the Roar. I\u2019ll share additional details about the Mizzou Day of Celebration events in next week\u2019s email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Power the Roar is an investment in excellence and drives meaningful progress in five priority pillars: educate future leaders, save and improve lives, build a resilient world, strengthen communities and develop champions. We\u2019ve already received support from more than 70,000 donors around the world, and the number continues to grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
