Dr. Roberts delivered the Kinder Institute on Constitutional Democracy\u2019s Distinguished Lecture \u2013 discussing his new book, \u201cThe Last King of America: The Misunderstood Reign of George III.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Before the lecture, the Kinder Institute\u2019s founders, Nancy and Rich Kinder, and I met with Dr. Roberts (and nearly 40 other supporters) at the Residence on Francis Quadrangle. Dr. Roberts was delighted to learn that 120 years ago Mark Twain also stopped by the Residence before an event to receive his honorary degree.<\/p>\n<p>The Kinder Institute, created in 2015, is a community of scholars who are unpacking the complex history of constitutional democracy in the U.S. and around the globe.
