I was proud to share more about our work at Mizzou and across the University of Missouri System.<\/span><span class=\"eop\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Missouri taxpayers are the most important benefactor to our university, students, faculty and staff. With their trust and investment, Mizzou has increased graduation rates to 75%, the UM System has boosted research expenditures to $512M and extended our research and teaching to impact more Missourians, no matter where they live.<\/span><span class=\"eop\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"normaltextrun\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.umsystem.edu\/ums\/news\/news_releases\/20230120556968406_news\">We are grateful to Gov. Mike Parson<\/a> for recommending a 7% increase in core funding for the UM System, along with other important investments in higher education. As stewards of public funds, we are committed to accountability, transparency and delivering more for Missouri. It\u2019s an investment that pays off. Mizzou <\/span><a title=\"https:\/\/showme.missouri.edu\/2022\/mu-generates-5-billion-in-economic-impact-in-fy21\/\" href=\"https:\/\/showme.missouri.edu\/2022\/mu-generates-5-billion-in-economic-impact-in-fy21\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">returns 25-1<\/span><\/a><span class=\"normaltextrun\"> on taxpayer dollars.<\/span><span class=\"eop\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"eop\">&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\">I appreciate our strong partnerships with elected officials and their support for our student success, research and engagement mission.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2014 Mun<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Monday morning, I addressed the House Subcommittee on Appropriations \u2013 Education about our budget priorities.
