This important discovery could shape future public health responses to the disease.\u00a0The first author of the study is Dr.\u00a0Aijing Feng, an MU postdoctoral fellow, and co-authors include Cynthia Tang, an M.D.-Ph.D. student in Mizzou\u2019s Institute for Data Science and Informatics, and researchers from the U.S. Department of Agriculture\u2019s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their paper was published in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41467-023-39782-x\">Nature Communications,<\/a>&nbsp;a major research journal.
