Provost & Executive Vice Chancellor Search Committee Appointed

Dear Mizzou faculty, staff and students,

Today I am pleased to announce the membership of the search committee that will help us select the next Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for MU. The committee will work over the next six months to identify candidates for this important leadership role for Mizzou. I have asked Joi Moore, Professor and Director of the School of Information Science & Learning Technologies, and Marshall Stewart, Vice Chancellor for Extension and Engagement, to co-chair the committee that will identify candidates and carry out the open search process.

The search will be facilitated by Tim McIntosh and the Executive Search team at UM System. Isaacson Miller, a search firm specializing in executive searches, will help identify candidates. I have asked that the committee try to complete the search by May 2018 with finalists interviewing on campus in late April/early May 2018.

The individual selected will fill the roll currently held by Garnett S. Stokes, who announced earlier this year she has accepted the president’s position at the University of New Mexico. I would like to thank Dr. Stokes for her dedication, leadership and positive contributions to our campus during her tenure. She will leave her post at Mizzou January 31, 2018. An interim Provost is expected to be announced by the end of the week.
