The latest U.S. News and World Report rankings were released today, and I’m thrilled to share that Mizzou has achieved a historic milestone: We’re a Top 100 national university!

We’ve continued our remarkable climb up the rankings, rising to #95 overall and capping a 44-spot improvement since 2020 (ranked #139). KU once again lost ground, coming in more than 50 spots behind us at #148. Other notable rankings include the University of Iowa at #100, University of Colorado and University of Tennessee at #109, Iowa State at #116 and University of South Carolina at #121.

The good news doesn’t stop there! Reflecting our tremendous growth in breakthrough research, student success and meaningful engagement, Mizzou now ranks among the top 13 for Best Value Public Universities, and earned the second-highest rank among SEC flagships.

Mizzou is also among the nation’s top universities for veterans, as well as for undergraduate programs in business, nursing and psychology, reflecting the strength of a Mizzou education across disciplines.

These honors are just the latest example of Mizzou’s growing national and international reputation for excellence. According to a recent Time Magazine ranking, Mizzou is among the top 150 universities in the world. Niche, a leading college search platform, named Mizzou as a top 5 online college in the nation.

It’s clear why our momentum continues to build. This year we achieved a record $553 million in research expenditures, the 12th consecutive year of growth, reflecting bold investments in the people, tools and facilities needed to make groundbreaking discoveries in cancer treatment, agriculture, energy and other critical areas. Our students are also thriving. Mizzou’s retention rate is 91%, our graduation rate is 77% and our career outcome rate is above 95%, demonstrating that Tigers receive the support they need to earn a degree and launch a successful future as soon as they leave campus.
